OH NO My Baby Love!!!

Lucy gave herself a haircut today!
The little stinker!!!
... and she thinks its FUNNY!!!

I guess I had it coming. The inside scoop is that when I was 5 and my sister, Kelly, who was 3, around the week that she FINALLY had enough hair to put into pigtails (my Mom was so happy; everyone thought Kelly was a boy until Mom could girl her up!) Well, the wonderful big sister that I was, at 5, gave her a haircut, UNDER the binder of one of those OH SO LONG AWAITED pigtails! To this day, 30+ years later, they have STILL not let me live that down - hey I was ONLY 5 AND I AM OH SO SORRY!!!

Anyway, my darling little Lucy (who is also 3) was left in my crafting studio for under 2 minutes, while Sam signed a card for his friends birthday party, that I had just made. Well, she decided to give herself a haircut and cut off all of the curls from the front of her hair that she could see!!! At least she didn't cut them off at the scalp (like I had with Kelly), so I could repair the damage pretty easily. She now has a layered bob, it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. And, THANK YOU GOD, her curls are not completely GONE!

Sam Lost His First Tooth!!!

Oh the sadness, oh the joy! My son Sam (5) is growing up way too fast! Today he lost his first tooth! He showed it to me, it was "super wiggly". I said maybe tomorrow. He left the room for about 90 seconds and came back in with it in his hand! He said "I just wrestled with it and it came out!"

We made this little pocket with my Cricut and his Lego paper and stickers for the Tooth Fairy! Seriously, how much is a tooth worth these days? I have NO idea???

A gift for my niece

It's her "Golden" birthday, she will be 7! I can hardly believe it. It seems just yesterday I was holding this beautiful little infant in my arms. Now she is turning into a littly lady. She loves everything "bling", so I made her this purse to celebrate her golden birthday.

Stair step card created for my parents' 38th wedding anniversary, which is today!

Congratulations Mom and Dad, I love you, thank you for setting such a great example!

I used a new technique in embellishing this card: "Embossing In Any Color". I was inspired by the Summer 2009 issue of Keynotes, Close To My Heart's exclusive consultant magazine. Add a subtle glossy texture to any project with this technique. Ink your stamp image first with VersaMark ink and then with any Exclusive Inks color. Stamp and heat emboss using clear embossing powder. This will create a custom embossing color for any project.

This project has inspired the Make and Take for the April workshop. We will create a stair step card with a Mother's Day theme. Just in time for Mother's Day! Contact me today if you would like to join in the fun!

Basic instructions to create this card:

It's called either a Stair Step fold, or an Accordion fold, depending on the orientation of your project. This would be a Stair Step fold since it's landscape.

1. Cut your cardstock to the size of 10.5" x 5" - if you want to stamp on this, now would be the time to do it.
2. Score your cardstock at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25"

3. Now fold with hills and valleys (accordion style) making sure that the smallest (1.25" fold) is folded down, as this will be the front of your card)
4. Now here's the fun part...decorate with ANYTHING...dimensional elements, cut-out stamps, stickers...pick a theme and run with it.
