Call 651.464.3424 to sign up for class
Monday, March 14, 2011, 6:00 pm, $20
Create this SPRING layout using Basic Grey Kioshi papers. It is perfect for your Easter, birthday, anniversary, or any celebration photos. This layout will hold about 12 photos, depending on the sizes you choose, suggested sizes are 7" x 5", 3" x 3 1/2" (4), 3" x 5" (4), 5" x 7" (2), 4" x 6".
Please bring your class kit including: adhesive, scorepal tape or liquid glue, 12" paper trimmer, bone folder, 12" scoring tool, scissors.
I've started going through some older photos. This layout features my Great Grandparents 60th Anniversary party circa 1975! But it will be perfect with Lucy's Easter dress for this year as well. You can't really tell, unless you look very closely, but see the little blondie, yeah, that's me.
This layout can be found in the fabulous "Magic" book from Close To My Heart. It is a must have for every scrapbooker's library.

Happy Scrapping!

Amber Ink Project: Lucy's 5th Birthday Card

My daughter Lucy was helping me choose which Amber Ink digistamp to use for my next project. She totally LOVES the "Love Bug" and I do too!  So I decided to make it her birthday card. We'll be celebrating her big #5 on Saturday, I can hardly believe it.

I used Gimp to recolor the bug and mask in the floral paper for the body, as well as to recolor the sentiment.  I opened the images in Word and typed in the additional "For Our Little", then I printed the images on white cardstock, as well as the ipapers; resized to 6x6 so the patterns would be smaller.

I chose the card pattern Sweet & Simple from Jeanette Lynton's How To Book Originals.  I colored the body of the bug with my bonding memories glue pen and covered it with prisma glitter.  Then I created raised eyes and "Love Bug" letters using liquid glass.

Products Used:
Amber Ink NoKaOi - Pink Blossom ipaper
Amber Ink Swiss Dots - Sunny Yellow: TINY ipaper
Amber Ink Saying - Love Bug (recolored to match the Pink Blossoms)
Amber Ink Wild Animals With Heart - Love Bug
CTMH Hollyhock Cardstock
CTMH White Daisy Cardstock
CTMH Hollyhock Stitched Ribbon (retired)
Liquid Glass
Prisma Glitter
Bonding Memories Glue Pen
Cotton Candy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Sponge
Foam Tape

Carrying The Torch for Amber Ink!

I about fell off my chair when I received an e-mail a couple of weeks ago inviting me to join Amber Ink's Design Team! Today I can finally announce it. The absolutely amazing Brenda Rose of Rose Blossom Legacies has passed the brown torch to me. I am so honored, thank you Brenda!

We officially start our torchbearer duties today. We've been getting to know each other over the last couple of weeks, everyone is so nice and creative! This is going to be fun!

There are five torches that are handed off each month. My fellow torchbearers are:
Our new team's bios and "Babe" pictures can be found at the Amber Inklings Blog. You can also check out the Amber Ink digital stamps, papers and clear stamps in the store.

Tomorrow I will post my first official Amber Ink project.  Stop back to see!

Recap of Ladies Day Out Crop to Benefit Operation Smile

On Saturday, I hosted another Crop at The Ponds to benefit Operation Smile. It was a great time! 24 fabulous ladies came to scrap the day away. It was a full house and fun was had by all. Best of all, we raised $70 for Operation Smile!

Every hour we had a prize drawing and the winner would get to choose from the prize table. Leann from Pampered Chef and Wendy from Lia Sophia also donated prizes and offered displays.

Here are a few pictures of the ladies cropping the day away. I waited until after the sun went down, because the clubhouse has so many windows the natural light filled the room for most of the day. It was wonderful!
Thank you ladies for joining in the fun and raising funds to support Operation Smile! I hope you will join me at the next event, details will be announced in March.

Happy Scrapping!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are a few love inspired projects for you.

This is my first ever attempt using a digistamp and ipaper. I've got to say, it was fun!

I don't have the fancy Adobe Photoshop that most have, so my tech-genius hubby suggested that I try Gimp.org. I did, and I love it! It is freeware and with a little learning curve, it acts much like Photoshop.  If you have been saving up for Photoshop, I recommend trying Gimp.

I love the saying on this stamp from AmberInk! When my hubby and I first started dating, one of the first jokes he told me was:
A mushroom walks into a bar.
The Bartender said, "We don't serve your kind here."
The Mushroom said, "Why not I'm a fungi!"
Yes, this kind of cheese won me over. :-) What a perfect v-day card for my hubby.

Materials Used:
AmberInk ipaper Spin Pin Tiny
AmberInk digistamp Fungi Mushroom Blank
CTMH White Cardstock
CTMH Holiday Buttons
CTMH Sassy Strands Summer Carnival
Liquid Glass

The next card showcases CTMH's Clear Cards and new Sweetheart papers along with an old origami money folding technique that makes fun embellishments for papercrafting.

Pattern from Originals: Cubes & Colors

Materials Used:
Sweetheart Level 2 Paper Packet
Clear Cards 4¼” x 5½” Assortment
Buttons Pink Assortment
Mini-Medley Accents Black Collection
3-D Foam Tape

My final card for this post features the origami money folding technique used to make a card. I started with this tutorial. There were a couple of steps that I changed, and I started with a 6x12 piece of B&T paper from the Wings paper pack.

I wish you lots of LOVE this Valentine's Day!

Happy Scrapping,
Jen Lee

Black and White Waterfall Layout Class

    February 9, 2011 at 6:00 pm $25
Memories and More, Forest Lake, MN
    Call 651-464-3424 to sign up!

For this layout, using only basics: cardstock, vellum, and ribbon, I used photos from our wedding 10 years ago. Our wedding was actually rich fall colors, chocolate, red, orange, yellow, in September of 2000. When you print the photos in black and white they take on a whole different feeling.  I've chosen not to title or embellish this layout so that it will work with any photos. You can easily make it your own.
The waterfall of this layout opens on the left page. The large main focus photo opens to reveal additional pages for more photos and journaling.
Tools/Supplies to bring for class:  12" paper trimmer, 12" scoring tool, bone folder, scissors, tape runner, score-tape or liquid glue, and glue dots.
